When printing PDF's they come out different to my printer setup or different to printing manually
KB ARTICLE:
KB0020
KB DATE: 03/11/2005
REVISED DATE: 29/04/2010
REQUIRES VERSION: ALL
EFFECTS: All versions of Adobe Reader/Acrobat
We know of two ways of printing PDF's with Acrobat/Adobe Reader:
1. open up a PDF and manually click print, then select
your settings to print
2. right mouse on a pdf file in windows explorer and
select 'print' from the popup menu.
Both print differently! because Adobe use different print mechanisms in the software to print the PDf's, the right mouse way will always use the Adobe defaults.
How to choose your settings before printing with Batch & Print Pro:
1. Install our optional PDF
Addon Plus:
http://www.traction-software.co.uk/batchprint/addons/pdfplus.html
optionally configure it to be used by default, see:
http://www.traction-software.co.uk/batchprint/KB/KB0012.html
This way it will print as you print manually in Acrobat/Reader but in a batch processing fashion.
Also note: closing Acrobat/Reader can also tell Acrobat/Reader to pickup new printer settings on next print, see article: http://www.traction-software.co.uk/batchprint/KB/KB0017.html
Optionally you can print PDF's without Adobe Reader/Acrobat by using Batch & Print Pro's internal PDF to PS conversion, NOTE: a postscript compatible printer and postscript printer driver is required.
Run Batch & Print Pro, go into
options menu-->default processing parameters and enter "-c1|-l2|-C0|-s"
in the PDF Processing edit box. (without the quotes) Then all PDF files
added to the list will be converted to postscript and sent to your
printer as postscript files.
